Residents of Peebles are now a happy lot after a significant reduction in crime and vandalism after a mobile security camera was installed at School Brae. Expressing his delight, Lawrie Hayworth, the Peebles Community Trust chairperson revealed that the CCTV had played a significant role in improving good behaviour.
This comes as Council officers, through the local authority, target to install more CCTV cameras in the eight Peebles neighbourhoods.
The proposal aims to revamp the surveillance system with modern technology cameras that will provide better services. Among the proposed surveillance techniques is using a van to monitor occurrences in a particular area.
