The use of CCTV has become extremely popular these days with many buildings and homes having a number of CCTV cameras installed in strategic positions for security purposes.

This popularity can be attributed to the ability of the CCTV to provide property owners with details of what is happening inside their premises without their knowledge. But before you can install CCTV, you need to know how what forms a CCTV System.

Basically, closed circuit television uses four essential components including a CCTV camera, lens, monitor, and cables. Once an image is collected, it is sent to the monitor or a DVR and multiple monitors. Then the image is transferred to a video tape using the VCR or in more modern systems a Digital Video Recorder.
