Dummy CCTV CameraA fake CCTV camera has been removed from a cul-de-sac near Hereford County Hospital. The phoney camera was accompanied by several signs portraying themselves as official and legal signage from the council, but Herefordshire Council has confirmed that they were not involved with their placement.

The signs and dummy CCTV camera appear to have been placed there to threaten people who were dropping off or picking up hospital workers. One of the signs told readers that they were under CCTV surveillance, that their vehicles were being identified and that they would be facing a £100 fine for dropping people off there. None of this was true, and it was, in fact, illegal to threaten people with such outcomes.
