CCTV Systems are useful equipment for security purposes. They can be installed in various places depending on the needs of the owner. However, there are different types of CCTV cameras that can be installed indoors while there are also those that are meant for recording activities that go on outdoors – such as low light conditions.

CCTV cameras are only used for capturing; however, they are enhanced with a security DVR that is also used for recording the images. The recording hardware have various memory sizes which determine how long the system is able to record for. There are methods to work out how long a certain quality of image can be recorded for. Trial and error may be best.

When the recording system is full, the recorded images have to be erased or transferred to another device like a DVD or tape to create space for more recording.
